Short Essay On My Dream House

My dream is to live in a big detached house surrounded by a big garden full of flowers and trees. I wouldn’t like to live in an apartment with blocks of flats and rude neighbors making noise in the middle of the night. My dream house should be located outside the city, on the outskirts of town where I can find true peace and happiness. Therefore, my dream house should have the characteristics that represent my spiritual world and personality with its location as well as its inner and outer design. From my point of view, the location of my dream house is very important and the surroundings and the position of a house should be carefully considered. I’ve always been fascinated by rivers and the sound of the birds in the mornings. I’d feel positive and lively if I was woken up by the sound of doves perched on the branches of the trees. In this respect, I imagine my dream house near a flowing river, built in the countryside.

It would be located in such a place that I could find fresh water and air. In addition, my house’s position would enable me to have as many pets as possible since a large garden with enough space would provide shelter for them. Also, I’d like my dream house to be near to the city centre so that I might go to big shopping malls with my car if I needed to. As a matter of fact, peace and harmony combined with nature would be the basic feature of the location of my dream house with its closeness to the city for emergency situations and supplying the necessities. My dream house’s interior design should be carefully planned because I believe that beauty lies within the details. Consequently, I’d like it to have a big, spacious hall since it is the first place that you see as you come in through the front door.

At the end of the hall, there would be a staircase leading upstairs. I’d like to decorate the walls of the hall with famous artist’s reproductions of still life paintings. For me, these paintings would give person feelings of relaxation and serenity. The first room on the right would be the living-room which is quite large and full of light. Day light is essential for me so I’d like to have big windows in the living room. A door from the living room would lead to a small study where I could write, read books and work on my assignments. This small room would make me feel calm and attentive so I could focus my attention to my projects. Upstairs there would be bedroom and bathroom. Also, my bedroom would reflect my inner world and privacy so it would be painted with my favorite color which is blue. My view is that blue is the color that represents my feelings of harmony and peace. In short I can say that, the interior of my dream house is like my spiritual world so I’d decorate it in such a way that all the rooms, objects and colors would symbolize my true feelings.

The outer design of my dream house should be attractively decorated as much as the interior because I prefer to spend time outdoors. I desire to have magnificent gardens surrounding my house. The front garden should be full of flowers, bushes and fruit trees. The scent of flowers and fruit trees mixed in the air reminds me of heavenly moments filled with happiness and joy. The back garden should be very large so that I can have a lawn with a swimming pool. In addition, there would be another lawn which comes up to the patio. There would also be a flower bed near the back door and a path leading to the garden shed and the greenhouse, where I’d like to grow my own tomatoes, green peppers, parsleys, eggplants. Besides, there would be a large cage filled with different species of birds like peacocks or parrots. I’d let the door of the cage be open all the time for freedom is very important for me. Birds would come into the cage whenever they want to feed themselves. Watching colorful birds flying above my head while swimming in the pool would be a fantastic experience. Since the outside of my dream house would let me be alone with nature and fill my soul with peace and quietness, its design is very important and attentively arranged.

In my opinion, each person has a dream house that continues to remain on his mind as long as he lives. Places we spend our life is very significant because our moods are affected by the design and the location. If we live in a place filled with noise, chaos and air pollution our feelings would tend to be negative. On the contrary, if we live in a place close to the serenity of nature, our minds, bodies and spirits will be filled with positive energies. That’s why I’d like my dream house be located on the outskirts of a city, encircled with flowers, trees and birds. Likewise, we either feel relaxed or tenser inside our homes. If the interior design and colors used arise feelings of anger or anxiety we will be unhappy and depressed in our houses. Therefore, I prefer to plan interior of my dream house to give me feelings of relaxation and joy. In conclusion, everything about my dream house would reflect my feelings, thoughts and my personality so when you step in my house, you would, in a way, get into my inner world. ….

In life everyone has their own dreams, whether it be about cars, houses, or their career. Most people I know dream to have the biggest and luxurious houses but I was always satisfied with mine. My house is not a tiny apartment nor a huge mansion but a two story, plain brown brick cozy house with white painted doors. The front yard is decorated with beautiful flowers; roses, lilies, violets, dahlias, daisies and much more, my mother usually plant them. She says, “Flowers are a pleasure and perfection of nature, and they give many things to people, and it does not matter if you are rich or poor, they give you a wonderful world which makes you feel happy”. It definitely makes her and our neighbors happy. She shares the seeds of her flowers with the neighbors since they love and always compliment her garden.

Walking through the front doors of my house after a long day of school always makes me feel so relaxed. There is always a smell of fresh vanilla or brown sugar candles the moment I walk through my white painted door. As I walk up the stairs and I see four bedrooms and a washroom. There is one bedroom for each of us in the family; my parents, brother, sister and myself. I usually go straight to my room when I get home. The walls in my room are painted a nice light green. There’s my bed in the middle of the room, a desk, night table and a closet. I have always wished I had a walk in closet but I’m comfortable with what I have now, this closet does me just fine. I usually lay in my bed until it’s time for dinner. Lying down is when I have time to think about what I did during the day, my future, goals and achievements in life. Once everyone gets home from work or school, we all go downstairs for dinner. …

During a stress filled day do you ever find yourself daydreaming of being back at home? Not just an ordinary home, but the perfect house to relax and spend amazing moments with your loved ones. I always find myself dreaming about this not only the house itself but I also think of the surrounding and location of my house because the environment can influence the behavior, emotion and health. My imagination of a perfect home is a big, quiet, spacious and beautiful house located by the sea side. I find myself on an all-white brick path leading to my dream house. I walk with anxiety toward the house as if it is my first time seeing it. All around me lay the most beautiful trees and plants I have ever seen. It is peaceful but you can hear the sounds of birds chirping and small creatures playing in the underbrush.

I now see my house for the first time up close. Nothing could have prepared me for the moment I was about to experience. Before me stood a three story tall house, with walls that are made of stucco painted in a cream and white color and it has an old fashion shingles that are a gray color. As I approach the front of the house I am surrounded by four columns leading to the most elegant doors I have ever seen. They are made of mahogany and have a stained glass window in the center. The handles and the frame are made of brass. As I continue around the house I come across three windows overlooking the entrance to the house. There are white shutters on each window.
