Homework is extremely demanding and many students are spending far too many hours after school to complete their homework assignments. Although, some students may be able to whiz right through their homework, other students crawl along struggling at a snail’s pace. Consequently, family time is put on the back burner due to the time constraints of homework. Additionally, any extracurricular activities are also put on hold. Another reason homework should be banned is because of the struggle and stress it puts on parents. The job of being a parent is demanding and homework is tacking on unnecessary stress. In most cases students rely on their parents to help them do their homework. Many parents do not have the time needed to assist their children with homework. The demands of homework can take hours. Parents already have a full plate, and any extra time in their busy lives should not be dedicated to drilling their children with homework. Additionally, some parents are just not adequately equipped to teach their children. This alone puts an extreme amount of pressure on parents. Times have changed, and the way academics were taught 20 years ago is completely different from how academics are being taught today. Consequently, this causes parents to struggle while assisting their children in accordance with new teaching methods. Also, parents who are not able to assist their children are likely to feel guilty and inadequate as parents. Furthermore, many parents may try to relieve themselves from the homework dilemma by hiring a tutor, but unfortunately this may just create another layer of financial stress for parents. Moreover, parents that cannot afford a tutor and do not have the skills or time to teach their children will inadvertently struggle, which in many cases leads to depression or feeling that they are not good parents.

Teachers will also gain out of no homework because they don’t have to deal with grading messy handwriting and awful grammar. They don’t have to stay up however long it takes just to grade all the papers their students. It’s especially hard for middle school teachers and up because there are so many kids and so many different classes. Teachers can go anywhere they want if their lesson plan is finished for the next day if there is no homework. They won’t have to deal with angry kids, teens and yelling at them if they’re failing school because of homework. Homework is keeping everyone up.
It is also very frustrating hearing your assignment is due tomorrow because then we don’t get to do the things that we had planned for that day.
